📖 The story behind the recipe
This wedding pie recipe comes from Maria Lazăr, aged 80, from Giulești, Maramureș. It was traditionally prepared for weddings and major holidays, being an essential festive dessert on Maramureș tables. The combination of sweet cheese with plum magiun (lictari) is specific to the area and gives the pie a unique sweet-sour taste.
The recipe is part of the „Maramureș GastroEtnoArt” collection of the Maramureș Museum in Sighetu Marmației.
