The extension of Station Street (Strada Gării) in Baia Mare, from the Tanatorio roundabout to the Constantin Brâncoveanu Street intersection, is in its final phase. The investment modernizes transport infrastructure and provides access to the city’s new 110-place nursery, inaugurated this year and opening in September.
🚧 Final works underway
As Deputy Mayor Pap Zsolt István promised in May, the works will be completed this month. Almost everything is finished on site; only the road markings remain, including the cycle paths and sidewalks.
„This road section is of key importance as it facilitates traffic from the Tanatorio roundabout all the way to the station. I am especially pleased that the investment was completed on schedule and will be handed over within the promised deadline,” said the deputy mayor.
🌳 More green space than planned
The deputy mayor also brought good news for residents: the green areas have been increased compared to the original plans, so significantly more trees will be planted on both sides of the street. The planting will take place this autumn.
🔍 What’s next
The Station Street extension is expected to be handed over by the end of August, alongside the opening of the new 110-place nursery in the neighborhood.
