Fry the finely chopped onion in oil until golden. Meanwhile, boil the beans in salted water until well cooked. Separately, fry the chopped sauerkraut.
Once all ingredients are ready, mix the boiled beans with the fried sauerkraut. Make a simple sauce (without milk or cream) from flour and oil, and add it to the mixture to bind everything together. Let it simmer for a few minutes, stirring gently.
Serve warm, plain or with polenta. It is a lent-friendly dish, hearty and full of flavor.
