🥣 Ingredients
- ½ kg (1 lb) flour
- yeast (walnut-sized piece)
- 1 cup sugar
- vanilla
- 1½ cups milk
- 2 eggs
- 3 tbsp butter or lard
- 2 cups dried fruits (grapes, dried apples, raisins, walnuts, hazelnuts)
- lemon peel
- 1-2 tbsp rum (optional)
👩🍳 Instructions
Knead all the ingredients together into a smooth dough. Leave the dough to rise until it doubles in volume. Once risen, divide the dough into two greased trays and let it rise again until the trays are full. Bake until golden brown and cooked through.
When the bread comes out of the oven hot, grease it with butter and sprinkle ground sugar on top. Alternatively, you can brush it with orange sherbet or any preferred syrup.
