A strong collision between two cars occurred on Monday, August 17, at the intersection of DN1C with the communal road leading to Bozânta Mică, in Lăpușel. As a result of the impact, one of the vehicles was thrown into the ditch along the road, while both cars suffered serious damage.
🚗 Collision at the Bozânta Mică intersection
The road event took place around 15:30 local time, at the intersection of the national road DN1C with the communal road that leads to Bozânta Mică. According to initial information, one of the drivers reportedly entered the intersection from the communal road without yielding to the car traveling on the main road.
As a result of the impact, one of the two vehicles involved was projected into the ditch on the left side of the direction of travel, while both cars suffered serious damage. Police officers and a SMURD emergency crew were called to the scene.
📍 A second incident, less than 200 meters away
Almost in the same time interval, a second road incident occurred in the area, less than 200 meters from the first one. The two events were signaled by members of the Radare Maramureș traffic community, who also reported the presence of the intervention crews in the area.
Information regarding the exact cause of the collision remains, for now, preliminary — the details circulated online have yet to be confirmed by the official investigation.

The intersection where the collision took place is located on DN1C, a busy national road that links the Baia Mare area with other regions of the country. The communal road leading to Bozânta Mică connects the nearby village with the national road, which means that local and transit traffic meet at this junction on a regular basis.
Road events in the Lăpușel area have drawn attention before, and local traffic communities regularly signal dangerous maneuvers at communal road intersections. The authorities recommend extra prudence, especially during the afternoon hours, when traffic volumes tend to be higher.
