Pods with juice is a simple, hearty dish cooked in the villages of Maramureș, with a light roux and sour cream at the end. The recipe comes from Batin Ioana, 79 years old, from Mănăstirea, and is part of the culinary traditions collected by the Maramureș Museum in Sighetu Marmației.
🥣 Ingredients
- green bean pods
- a little onion
- half a tablespoon of flour
- water
- sour cream
👩🍳 Method
Put the pods to boil. Meanwhile, make a light roux from a little onion and half a tablespoon of flour. The flour is „turned” twice, so that it does not burn, because it is not good for the stomach. Quench the roux with water from the pot or with cold water and pour it over the pods. At the end, add sour cream.
