The 41st edition of the “Expo-Flora Maramureș” exhibition will take place between September 17–20, in the Central Public Park of Baia Mare, as part of the 31st edition of the Chestnut Festival, the city’s traditional autumn celebration.
🌷 Four days of flowers in the Central Park
The event, organized by the Baia Mare Urban Environment Public Service, was approved by the Baia Mare Local Council through Decision no. 412/2026, adopted in the ordinary meeting of August 28, with 19 votes in favor and one abstention. The estimated cost of the event is 270,000 lei, covered by sponsorship revenues and the organizer’s own funds.
For four days, the Central Public Park will host one of the county’s most beloved traditions, bringing together producers and traders of flowers, ornamental plants and landscaping items. Flowers and plants will be showcased in the exhibition area, while visitors will also be able to buy them from the market zone set up for the occasion. For many residents, the exhibition is a chance to refresh their balconies and gardens in preparation for the colder season. The official opening will take place on Friday, September 18, at 12:00, in the Central Public Park.
🎟️ Free access for visitors
According to the local council decision, visitor access to the exhibition will be free throughout the entire event, with no entrance fee for the public. The exhibition will be open on Friday between 12:00 and 20:30, and on Saturday and Sunday between 09:00 and 19:30.
💼 Fees for traders
Traders wishing to take part in Expo-Flora Maramureș will pay a participation fee of 300 lei for the use of a fixed ground display structure of 10 square meters. The amounts collected from this fee will become revenue for the Baia Mare Urban Environment Public Service budget.
🎨 Activities for the whole family
Beyond the floral displays, the event brings a rich program of side activities: the national painting contest “Tradition, innovation and creativity” – Enroll for fun 2026, organized by the Children’s Palace, astronomy shows and thematic films presented by the Baia Mare Museum of Astronomical Sciences, gardening workshops where children can plant and decorate flower pots, face painting and creative workshops, a cooking workshop with chef Nicolai Tand, a puppet show performed by the Baia Mare Municipal Theatre and musical performances by local choirs, bands and art schools.
